ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
We are strongly involved in the development of environmentally friendly accommodation and program services. Our mission is to be a responsible place to experience, visit and act. We offer options that allow our customers to save resources and energy. This requires us to have well-thought-out environmental expertise that suits our customers’ needs and targets, and to minimise our own environmental impact. We are Good Travel Seal certified.
Our environmental policy requires us to adhere to sustainable development both in our own operations and in the services and programs we provide to our customers.
- we tell customers about our environmental work and the impact of everyday choices
- in order to improve our services and implement environmental aspects, we invest in training our staff
- we buy larger quantities at once, also taking into account transport costs
we prefer vegetarian food, game and lake fish - we prepare meals individually and we donate the waste to those in need
- we use eco-labeled detergents and domestic Taika shampoos and soaps
- engaging partners in environmental work
RENEWABLE ENERGY
We use renewable energy

own 7 kWp solar power plant - as additional electricity we buy wind power
- we use firewood from nearby forests at the fireplaces and for heating the sauna and living room (storage fireplace)

LOCAL COOPERATION
We work closely with other entrepreneurs in the area.

- we prefer Finnish local and organic products in the area, as well as local guides, program makers and catering companies
- we co-operate with the Vihtiläinen Kisälli workshop for the mentally disabled
FOSTERING FOLK TRADITION
Our programs are based on Finnish traditions and we cherish Finnish culture.
The event and party venue Wäinölä of Nuuksio, is a place where Finnish traditions foster, and it is named after the home village of Väinämöinen, the great hero of the Kalevala, and was built in the spirit of the Iron Age.
FURNITURE AND TABLEWARE
Almost all of our furniture is second-hand and traditional furniture.
The beds and tables are new, but made in Finland.
We do not use disposable tableware and instruct our customers to use the table setting of the villa for 20 people from sparkling wine glasses to dessert plates. In Wäinölä, we use some of our own clay pots, and we use ecological Kupilka dishes in the campfire service.
